The Federal Court of Appeal is the next level where tax cases are heard if one of the parties disagrees with the Tax Court's decision. This site includes decisions as well as links to the Supreme Court of Canada, the final stage of appeal for tax cases.
This is the website of the Court of Québec were assessments in QST or Quebec Corporate tax matters are appealed. Links to various tribunals and decisions are included. It should be noted that where both QST and GST are assessed against a taxpayer, both appeals must be filed. However, in general only one case is heard, the other tribunal accepting the first court's decision under the principle of judicial courtesy. The taxpayer chooses which case he wants to be heard, GST or QST, at the appropriate tribunal.
